Sinitis? or Rinitis?

I have had some sort of post-nasal drip and a CONSTANT feeling of the need to clear my throat. I have tried all sorts of allergy and cold meds, even mucinex. I went to an ENT who said I have rinitis and precribed Nasinex. After trying it for a 3-4 months, it did nothing for me. I had a quick, easy radio-frequency surgery, where they shrink the mucus membrane. It also did nothing for me. I was told that 40% of those who do this surgery need a second treatment, but I don't want to spend another $1400 (after insurance) on another one that may or may not help. My condition is still there, and I don't know that to do now. Should I see an allergist? This is very bothersome, and I feel that it is also making me fatigued and tired. What should I do or take?

  • Buy watercress and put'em raw in a blender along with 100ml of cold water. Turn them into liquid, heat it and drink it as hot as you can. Not too hot though - if the watercress splits from the water (the green stuff starts floating) you went too far!... Still, even if you go too far, you should drink it, as its better than nothing, and if you let it cool a bit it does not taste as BAD!!! Always add a spoon of honey for reasons that will become obvious! :D You should do this every night just before bed. This works for my rinitis...!!Make shure the watercress is properly washed under running water!!dvessa a t rocketmail do tt com

  • Surgery to shrink the mucus membrane? How barbaric! You need to find someone who will check you for allergies. Mold can cause your symptoms.I have them. It becomes a problem after I have gone to bed, as it can them drip backward more easily. I can make bubbling sounds at the back of my soft pallette all the time. I had a real problem with mold about 2 years ago and had to have the AC ducts cleaned.

  • I had the same symptoms, went to the ear, nose, throat specialist expecting something about allergies. Turns out I had gastric reflux and the acid was eroding my throat causing my body to keep lubricating it with mucus. This caused the constant clearing of my throat. I also had heartburn. Anyway, I now take prilosec everyday and don't have the problem anymore.
