My 16 year old daughter gets sick more than the rest of us 4 put together. Since she was a baby she would get very high fevers, sometimes lasting for weeks. She has had typical illnesses, but also shingles, and mono.
She just got over a 2 1/2 week bought of high fever, sore throat (not Strep) nausea and major fatigue. She was tested for mono and West Nile. Both negative. She was better for a week, and now has a terrible headache, fever, blind spots in her vision, nausea, dizziness, anorexia, and MAJOR fatigue. Our GP says he doesnt know what the problem is, but we always get the same answer every time we see him- it's a virus, she will get over it eventually. When is it time for me to take her to a specialist? I think it might be now, since she has been frequently sick for all her life, and now she misses so much school and work, I fear for her future.... not to mention her health. Any advice is appreciated.
