If anyone can shed some light here, it would mean the world.
I have felt bad for months, and I have felt strongly like something is wrong.
I have had a pelvic ultrasound (clean), an intestinal CT (clean), an EKG, stress test, and chest xrays (all clean). Since my womanly areas, heart, and intestines seemed ok, I kept looking, more tests.
Recently, blood tests showed my liver enzymes were slightly elevated, and an ultrasound of my liver shows it is slightly enlarged. I have pain in the upper right abdominal area, just under the rib, and it hurts to be pressed on.
I don't drink or do street drugs. I do smoke cigarettes.
Other symptoms (for months):
Cold hands and feet (blue toenails)
Feel like I have a fever, but don't
Sleep a lot- sometimes 12-14 hours
Low sex drive
If this wasn't enough, two days before Thanksgiving I was rushed to the ER, thinking I had a heart attack (that's when all the heart tests). They told me I had acid reflux, which caused esophogeal spasms. I have never had a problem with heartburn or reflux before, and this was a sudden onset, SEVERE pain situation. I have modified my diet according to instructions, and been on an acid-reducer since. It seems to help, since I am not as in as much pain, though there is still a little, every day. It got a lot better after I stopped reducing my coffee intake, and just stopped coffee altogether.
I should also note that I was on Flexaril (muscle relaxant) and Vicodin (pain killer) daily for over a month while the reflux/spasms were at their height of pain. The liver tests were all done after this month, and I'm thinking it's possible the month of Vicodin (one a day most days, 2 on really bad days) may have stressed my liver, elevating the enzymes, making it tender and enlarged, etc.
I have been researching like crazy, and I have come up with a few possibilities, some which scare me to death. My top five most likely candidates are: mono, lyme, chronic fatigue, hepatitis, leukemia.
I'm hoping for some new light to be shed here, and welcome ALL suggestions. I have no life anymore- my relationships with my children, mother, and fiance are suffering, I can't work, the house is a mess. I need to know what is happening, even if it's an answer I don't like. Please post if you have ANY inkling whatsoever.
