Sick every 5 weeks

My mother is 84 years old. She gets sick every 5 weeks, just like clockwork. She loses her appetite & is unable to eat hardly anything for about 5 days. She just lays around because she is too sick to do anything. Then after 5 days, she gets better again -- only to get sick again in 5 weeks. Any ideas what this might be?

  • Is it possible she is still having menstral cycles? Or her body is trying to have them?

  • I would say that it is hormonal. I know some ppl with Lupus have sickness with their cycles. Even women who have experienced menopause have issues sometimes. I would check into that. I know I am sick with each cycle and that it is like clock work unless I am on hormone therapy. Sometimes I have fever, I have joint pain and malaise.
