I will try to keep it short but direct. I have had several symptoms of major body aches, loss of body sensations, and abnormal MRI's of the thoracic spine and lower lumbar. Last night I had something very scary happen basically, I was having tough time sleeping and then all of a sudden I jumped out of bed with major burning sensations on my back and both shoulders to hands went numb, and starting to have a little breathing difficultie. I of coarse started to hyperventalate because I didn't know if I was going to die the way I felt.
If someone could give me some advice on what to do or what might be going on, I would love to hear from you. I'm was scared to call for help in the event that I was just having a major panik attack which I have never felt like this before. THanks again for anyone interested in taking their time.

  • sounds like you are very frightened...what did the abnormalites suggest to the doctors? Would a good chiropractor with an electricity machine help? There's a good one in Bisbee, Az..you can try EFT for the condition and panic:http://www.emofree.com/ http://www.gloriaarenson.com/learn_eft_emotional_freedom_technique.html

The abnormalitys suggest that I may have MS, myopathy, transverse myelitis and a few other issues. However, Last night was so scary, I'm actually nervous to go to sleep tonight. I felt litterally like I was going to die, my body was giving me such strong symptoms that were very uncomfortable. Anyway, thanks again for suggestions.

  • I responded to you quite some time ago when you 1st posted here. Maybe I can be of some help. I too have these problems. Cymbalta was prescribed which is an antidepressant but also helps with nerve pain. This might kill 2 birds with 1 stone, so to speak. When you say you have had abnormal MRI-what do they say is abnormal? Have they ever mentioned clumping of nerves in thoracic area or scar tissue or a tear or abnormal narrowing of spinal canal? I originally pointed you to a site regarding Arachnoiditis. I believe you were the person who did mention it to Drs. Just a word to the wise---many, many Drs or others reading/interpreting MRIs are ill informed & look at you like you are alien when you mention this word. Hopefully, one day persons in medical professions will see more than a paragraph about this supposed "rare" affliction in their medical studies. If they did indeed mention anything about your nerves stuck together, having scar tissue on them or the appearance of an empty thecal sack at that point in your spine, you are indeed dealing with Arachnoiditis. I am not a nut who's trying to diagnose others with this just because I have it. Just trying to save someone literally YEARS with no diagnosis as most were in my Arachnoiditis support group. Google cofwa for more info. Hope this helps.

  • You don't mention what the Mri's showed, so its hard to say what it could be. Sciatica or a disc problems can be causing some of the issues.Your mention of the lumbar area, brings to mind caudia equina. That can cause problems with body sensations.www.spineuniverse.com is a good site, lots of info and treatment options. Best wishes, ~~JerseyLymie

I have tried going with more organic foods and trying to exercise more but the more I do the more I get sick. THanks for responding
