I have been suffering with neck and shoulder pain for over two years now, after being passed from doctor to doctor and two seperate lots of physio, two mri's. The pain is still there, my mri resuls said i have a disc bulge in c5 and c6, also mild wear and tear changes in the joint connecting the collar bone and shoulder also mild inflammtion of the tendons around the shoulder. I am awaiting my fifth consultant appiontment, does anyone know if this is ever gonna get better??

  • After two years of suffering, I would think this is not going to get better without a different approach to treatment. M.D.s can not solve something like thlis without surgery, and you definitely do not require surgery for a bulge ( as opposed to a full herniation). I would advise seeking out a good chiropractic doctor who will do gentle manual spinal adjustments to re-seat the disc and re -align the neck. He may also use some therapy modalities , and light distraction of the neck. There is no referral needed so you can do this on your own. I know first hand that this gives relief. I wish you the best.

  • My advice...seek out a good chiropractor who has a massage therapist on staff. A massage should be able to help with the tendon and muscle issues. Chiropractors are the spine specialists. If anyone can help you, they can.
