I wonder if anyone could offer some insight into some strange but nonetheless worrying symptoms I have been having for about a year or two now.
It seemed to start after I had a panic attack (mostly my fault as a result of driving with the top down and getting too cold and hyperventilating).
Since then, I've had occasional feelings of panic and anxiety that it is happening again but with no real reason to worry. This started off only being when I was driving as per the first incident but has since started whilst working, watching TV etc.
The doctor has diagnosed anxiety and after initially prescribing beta-blockers for the actual panic attack; gave me Citalopram to help calm the actual anxiety. These have helped a bit and I've not had a full attack since but I still get the feelings of anxiety, along with a very short sensation of shock or rapid contraction in my throat / upper chest. It only lasts for about a second, so almost like a spasm but it leaves me feeling panicy and anxious and sometimes is accompanied with a brief tingling in my arm.
Something else which may or not be related is since I've started the Citalopram, I've noticed a feint ringing in one ear which hasn't gone away (doctor said not to worry) but is noticeable at night mostly and the appearance of some floaters which again have been present since around the time I started the medication.
Some rather odd symptoms which alone don't seem that bad - but together they constantly leave me feeling worried the diagnosis of anxiety has masked something else. If anyone has anything to offer I would be so grateful for your time.
