About a year ago, I was playing ultimate frisbee in my phys. ed. class at school when someone attempting to intercept a pass hit my upper forehead with their elbow with such force that it knocked me to the ground. A huge bump appeared almost instantly and didn’t recede for a little over a week.
I began experiencing intense pain in my lower neck where it meets my upper back. The pain is a sort of sharp ache that starts deep on my lower neck and over the course of the day, begins to spread up my neck into my head and down my spine. The pain never really goes away but laying flat on my back with a well supportive pillow helps a little.
I went to a couple doctors and took a couple tests (CAT scan and some nerve thing with diff colored bars horiz to my spine…) but everything thus far has been completely inconclusive and super expensive. It’s so frustrating because Illinois has mandatory physical education but also has tort laws that protect it from any suits pertaining to injuries resulting from negligent supervision on the teacher’s part. I can’t afford to go to the doctor anymore because it’s just so outrageously expensive...
