Hi,

I am a 19 year old woman

For the last 3 or so years I have had shakey hands, I also suffer from really cold feet, which I cannot heat up no matter how much I try. Also recently in the last year or so I have started getting pins and needles, anywhere on my body at least once a day, mostly on my hands feet or upper leg.

Does any body have any ideas of what this could be?:confused::confused:

I do smoke on occasion and drink alchol, however not excessivly

Thanks

  • Do the 'pins and needles' come and go? Do your symptoms get better when you eat? Have you lost weight? Diabetes and hypoglycemia are something to consider.

  • There is no difference when I eat, the pins and needles last for about 2 minutes each day and I cant shake them off they just stay as long as they like. I have had no recent weight loss. I am a healthy weight for my height. The shakey hands do get unbearable sometimes, I find it really dificult to concentrate on small tasks such as doing my make up! Hopefully not diabetes at my age? Is there foods I should be eating, I have a healthy diet of enough fruit and vegetables each day and meat, I dont snack on crisps, chocolate etc. The only thing missing in my diet is fish, but I know a few 0eople who dont eat fish aswell and they do not have this problem?

  • I'm not sure the fish would cause your problem. But they do have plenty of good omega acids that you should probably take supplements for. They keep your mind sharp and as my father says 'well lubricated'. Haha. What makes you suspect that your symptoms are anything out of the ordinary? Just out of curiosity, I'm not discrediting you, I promise :).You know, I've got to admit for your age you shouldn't be having these symptoms I would expect them from someone around the age of forty. I'm no older than you are and it just doesn't seem right for a nineteen year old to be having this.

  • My hands are the worst give away, everyone I meet comments on them, or if I tell them they always say that they did notice but didnt want to say anything. So I have been meaning to go to the docotors for ages but never bother getting round to it, I have never been one to spend my time in a doctors room. I just thought it may be something some one else has sufferd with
