Shaky Hands

I am wondering about a possible diagnosis for shaky hands. My brother has had shaky hands since he was a young teen. Any time he handles anything with his hands and even when he is sitting still, occasionally his hands shake really badly. I know this is/can be a sign of drug/alcohol withdraw, which he has undoubtedly experienced, but like I mentioned before, it is a problem that has been around since he was very young and before drinking/smoking. Do you have any ideas or suggestions?
