For the past year and a half my 7 year old daughter has been experience severe tummy pain around her belly button. It comes on very fast and at any time of the day. She goes completely pale and will lie down on her side with her knees pulled up to her chest, it can last for up to 2 hours.

We're constantly at the GP to get answers we've been to Paedeatrics and no one knows what is wrong. All they can say is they don't think that it is serious. She's had blood and urine tests. They gave her some Lactulose Syrup but hasn't helped.

We've done a food diary but no pattern emerged from that. Some people have suggested it could be her ovaries gearing up but I've never heard of such pain associated with this. ANY SUGGESTIONS OR HELP WOULD BE REALLY APPRECIATED!!!!

  • You have so got to talk to me!! My little girl started with stomach pain at birth. She was over 4 when she could voice her discomfort. She is 7 now and has had a perforated appendix, migranes, years of vomiting, high white blood count, and ongoing gas pain. I thought she was hypoglacemic and it turns out that isn't it. Get a blood test for the white count asap. I bet she is having an appendix problem.I was able to have her appendix removed and she is noteably better. We have still issues with cronic tummy aches. We were told it is "stress" I don't buy that. This girl has hurt for ever now. She has a gastro reflux disorder but I never found out what is still making her sick. We hear it could also be pre-pubetary growing pains??? I don't really care what it is, I just want it fixed. Good luck to you. Kim
