Seems like an infection, whole family had colds (a month ago) but mine never got better. I'm constantly on Tylenol/Advil so I can dull the throat pain enough to eat & drink. Few weeks ago, went on amoxycillin and instantly got better! Finished 10-day course and 4 days later, symptoms returned with a vengeance. Could barely stand the throat pain, and this from a woman who did natural childbirth (zero drugs!) twice. Now on 4th day of 5-day azithromycin (Z-pak) and no improvement.

Diagnosis from two different doctors was sinus infection. Strep test was negative.

If I'm not better in a couple days I'll go back to the doctor again...but what, they're going to throw another antibiotic at me?

Any suggestions? I'm a 36 y.o. woman otherwise very healthy, slender, decent diet, non-smoker.
