Since age 7 I have suffered with what was diagnosed as asthma. Over the last 14 years it's gotten much worse. I get mult resp infections per year and with each infection i cannot breath. i get extremely short of breath, can't talk i'm so SOB. Can't walk. Can't eat. Sometimes my oxygen levels dip to the low 80s. I've been hospitalized over 200 times yet the docs all say "this isn't asthma", but they don't know what it is. Sometimes i wheeze, sometimes i don't. Sometimes i cough. It's always associtied with a lung infection...bronchitis, pneumonia, ect. I've been treated with steroids, albuterol, magneium. It seems to help but the side effects are horrible. Lately the docs have started blaming me saying that it's anxiety. I really don't think this is the case. I've also had two pulmonary embolisms in the last year. My pulmonologist now says that he will not treat me medically and wants me to see a psychiatrist. I've had four psych evals and all the psychs say it's medical. No one knows what to do. I've been intubated several times and on bi-pap a bunch. I'm scared at this new "no treatment" technique that I'll end up dead. Anyone heard of anything like this?Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
