I am a 30 year old male and earlier today I noticed a slight pain in my ribcage. It was almost like it was sore from coughing too much lately (I smoke and have been coughing quite a bit lately). After a few hours, it got even worse until it reached the point where whenever I move I feel like I want to die. I don't go to doctors and usually just deal with things myself, but this really, really hurts.

I've been Googling back pain and all my symptoms and coming back with lots of results, but none seem to fit. I have no vomiting or nasuea. No fever. No stomach issues at all. It just feels like someone has me in a bear hug and every so often they sqeeze tighter. Sometimes it feels like they're sqeezing and pushing against the spine with something like they're trying to break me in half.

Please help. I can't just randomly go to the ER. I have no heath care coverage and can't afford to waste money unless it's absolutely necessary.

But as you smoke I think it's necessary for you to see a doctor and ask for a chest x ray to be on the safe side. Good luck
