Severe itching for short periods

Recently, I have been experiencing these crazy short lasted periods in which I itch uncontrollably for several minutes. I think it may have something to do with the Cold and Dry weather that is the Quebec winter.

In the past, I have had dry skin on my face that would flake and fall off similar to dandruff. It would worsen after a day of snowboarding. I have been using moisturizer lately and it seems to be doing wonders.

Back to the itching; it seems to happen as my body warms up. It has happened most recently:
1. During a squash game
2. 15 minutes into a 3 hour term test
3. Skateboarding up the hill to my house after class.
4. While shopping at the local indoor mall.

The itching is most frequent around my hair line, back of my neck, chest and outer leg as well as my arms. Basically all over.

I have been using the same shampoo and soap in the shower as always. I have been using new laundry detergent; but I doubt it can linked to this because my head is usually the itchiest.

Last year, I do remember have the same type of itch; but not nearly as often as it has been occuring lately.
