Severe Back Pain No Diagnosis

My lovely fiance shawna has had severe and debilitating back pain for 10 months. She has seen her doctor (at least 2X a month) had an mri (albeit an open mri she's claustrophobic), seen a couple of ER docs and gone to a chiro for several months all without any relief or diagnosis. Chiro says she has subluxations and arthritis. Docs say they can't find anything. She describes it as a dull but intense pain all over her back, but focused on a spot about 2inches to the left of her spine in her midback. She describes the pain as feeling like "the inside (as in the backside) of her ribs are throbbing. She's been reduced to missing work all the time and sitting in a lazy boy with a heating pad on her back. Her doc recently gave her Lyrica saying that it sounded like Fibromyalgia. So far not helping. She also experiences occasional blurred vision, nausea and frequent vomiting, and is obviously in a deep depression. She says that she feels that these aren't symptoms of whatever is wrong with her, merely side effects of her chronic pain. I need so desperately to be steered in some sort of direction. Please help.

James
