I really need some help. For the past two months I have been really really sick. However within the past 4 weeks it's gotten worse. I have severe abdominal pain in the upper abdomen which gets worse within minutes of taking a bite of food.
It doesn't matter what I try eat, I even tried drinking Ensure just to get the nutrients however that just causes excruciating pain and I am doubled over and hysterical within minutes. The pain starts in the upper abdomen and eventually goes down through the middle of my stomach or abdomen area.
I was hospitalized two weeks ago because of severe dehydration and the fact that I stopped eating. I am at the point where I want to stop eating again. My doctor did a CAT scan which came back normal, my blood work is slightly elevated and I am scheduled to have an upper GI and a colonoscopy within a couple of weeks. My doctor told me I have to force food down and just deal with the pain because there is nothing he can do for me at the moment. I had my gallbladder out two years ago and my appendix was removed in 1996.
Please can someone help me figure out what is going on because I am already losing a lot of weight and no one seems to have an answer about what could be wrong except that I just have to bear it. Even painkillers don't seem to take away the pain.
