I had gastric bypass surgery in Dec 2001. Everything went well, until 2003. I started having abdominal pain. It's right in the middle, under my rib cage, and it feels like its being twisted and twisted and twisted and twisted until it can't get any tighter. And then it twists some more. It happens when I'm awake or asleep, full or empty stomach, sitting, lying down, or standing, eating or not eating, there's no rhyme or reason to it. The pain can last for 5 minutes, 10'minutes, 2 hours, 8 days, it varies. I can go months without an attack. I have had my gall bladder out. i do not have ulcers. I had a hernia repaired. I was hospitalized in 2005 with acute peritonitis and perforated bowel. I was told that was the source of my pain. I was hospitalized for 9 weeks. I repeatedly said it still hurt and was told it was surgery pain. It's been 8 years; I think I've healed by now. It still hurts. The pain is becoming debilitating. It brings me to tears. Nothing I do gives me relief.
