Hi well my father had rectal cancer and he went through chemotherapy and radiation therapy then had a sigmoidostomy about 2 months after the surgery he started to develope severe central abdominal pain. The pain is so intense it is debilitating, he takes dilaudid for the pain it just takes the edge off at times he can not eat or drink because the pain is so severe. We have gone back and forth to the doctor/emergency room so many times, they have done cat scans, MRIs, ultra sounds, and pet scans but each time they say they cant find anything wrong and just send him home. Now its been 2 years since his sigmoidostomy and it seems that the pain is getting worse, he is in the hospital right now because of dehydration and he has also lost about 40lbs in the last 2 months. Again the doctors are saying they cant find anything wrong but obviously there is something wrong! I'm at my wits end and dont know what to do neither do his doctors. So if somebody might have some suggestions or answers it would be much appreciated I dont know how much longer he can go like this he is wasting away.Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
