I'm having cramping in my lower abdomen, and its worrying me, I had a small b/ m earlier, the cramping is also accompanyed by a pain, not to bad yet. I have been taking GlycoLax, to help me go to the bathroom. I haven't taken that today, but I feel like I have to go to the bathroom, and cant get it all out, and maybe that is causing the cramping. It is on my right side, and I'm hoping its not my appendix, not sure though. Anyone if you have had this please respond.
thank you:confused:

  • It is very likely that the laxative is causing the pain (also just being constipated can cause cramping). Have you increased your water intake with the med? If not you need to. Another suggestion is to eat grapes--a lot of them--I have had constipation due to a medicine they put me on and I was eating 1-2 pounds of grapes because laxatives make me throw up. The grapes helped. Do you normally have problems with constipation or is this new? Don't be surprised if you see small streaks of bright red blood on the toilet paper if you are successful in having a bowel movement after straining. You can give yourself hemroids which bleed or you can even pass out. If you don't get relief in a couple days or start running a fever you need to get to the doctor ASAP.Good Luck and God Speed

  • Constipation isin't new to me, I was on Zelnorm, but got off of it cuz of the side effects, now I'm on GlycoLax and it seems to be working, But Maybe I am not drinking enough water with it, I should try that. I have a colonscopy scheduled for the 10th of april, and I have a doctors appointment next thursday the 12th, so I keeping up to date with my doctors, and keeping alittle journal of what I eat, and when I have a B/M. I will also try and eat more grapes. I love them, so I will get them. They say I have IBS with constipation, but they are doing a colonoscopy to make sure.

  • If it's a periodic sharp gas pain on the right side...it's just that, gas. The large intestine wraps around from the right, and sometimes constipation can back up that far. If it lasts another day, I'd see your doctor.
