Please employ a cleaner if you do not already have one.She needs tender love and care, good food and a little time for herself. You can help a lot here. You are right, she will not need antianxiety drugs if you take care of the above as you have already taken her to the doctors.

However I'd like to know about condition of the thyroid gland of your wife. You mentioned that the thyroid sugar is OK. What that is mean? The symptoms you mentioned resembles the symptoms of the patient having thyroid disease problems. Have you ever heard about toxic phase of the thyroiditis?

  • if her thyroid is on the low-normal side, she can still be affected. It can also be the baby exhausting her, which can be normal--or other hormones out of balance..

Have you and your doctor preferably a Gynecologist ruled out Post Partem Depression? This problem can go on for years if not properly treated. I agree with the other reply that she needs a lot of rest and care. Forcing her or pushing her will not work. A GYN can offer a lot of help with women that have had a child. Brook Shields wrote a book about Post Partem Depression. Hope this helps.

It can cause thyroid disease and especially Hashimoto's thryoidits so ask your doctor to do a TSH blood test. it is more sensitve than the usual thyroid tests they do. My thyroid stopped working after the birth of my second child and it created a lot of problems. The other disease I know pregancy can trigger are Lupus, and Rheumatoid Arthritis. RA usually presents with obviously swollen joints - knees and elbows. A friend was diagnosed with ALS when her daughter was 2 yrs old so it is important that you keep looking for whatever is wrong. Go to the doctor with her, they tend to respond better when the husband takes time from work to validate what his wife tells them. When it is just the new mom complaining they say it is stress or being overtired.
