Hi...I'm a 41 yr. old female with an INTENSE ringing in my left ear...at least I THINK its in my ear?

It almost sounds like its up in my head though...It has been NON-STOP for over a month, and NOTHING makes it better....

Even in a crowded restaurant the ringing is louder than the other noise!!

I've not been exposed to any loud sounds or injury....

I dont have health insc....Anyone have any ideas of a remedy for this b4 I LITERALLY go CRAZY??

  • please go and meet an ENT surgeonwhat you have is a common symptom of EAR diseaseyour hearing needs to be tested and you might even be advised to get a CT/ MRI of the headThe problem that you have could be as simple as a viral infection of the inner ear or as complex as a tumor of the nerve that supply the earDr G

  • Not really anything you can do without the help of and Ear Nose & Throat Specialist unfortunately. I think there is a clinic in either DC or near DC in Maryland that should give you access to really good ENT Specialists either free or very minimal choice. MY ENT worked there before he moved to NYC where I see him. I'll see if I can figure out where it is and post the info if I find it.It's not the same place but maybe you can get help here: http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/Press_releases/2004/10_29_04.html

  • Thank u both for ur respond. I might end up going to the ER...Now I'm getting really bad headaches the come on abruptly, horrible sweats, (no fever) and waves of nausea that come on quickly, but dissipate in about 15 or 20 mins. No vertigo though.... So...it would be weeks b4 an ENT can see me, so the ER might be the only option to get an MRI quickly! Thanks for ur advice! I will keep u posted! CHRIS
