I've had a really bad cold for the past 4 days and yesterday, all of a sudden my left ear went all weird, it sort of feels like I am deaf in that ear and I am constantly hearing this high-pitched noise. I woke up this morning and I am still hearing it. Has this happened because of my cold or is it something else? please reply.

  • Sometimes I get the same thing in my right ear, suddenly seem to lose hearing except for the high pitched noise, but it only lasts a few seconds to maybe a minute. Once in a while, in the same ear, it's as if my ear is full of water (sounds are muffled) and there's a "fluttering" sensation....this too lasts only seconds but I usually have a quick wave of dizziness with it. Since it doesn't happen often I haven't seen a Dr. about it, interested to see the responses to your post.
