Hi,

I'm a 19 year old virgin male. For the past four days I've been having slight pain in my right testicle. I've been checking for lumps on my testicle for the past two years and I haven't noticed any signs of even a slight change in my testicle structure. The pain isnt there when I'm sitting, mostly not there when I'm walking. It's almost neglegible. I checked all the possible diseases associated with testicular pain but not one of their symptoms matched mine. Plus, I'm not sexually active so I know the pain isn't an STD. According to me there's two possible reasons for my pain:

1. When I sleep on my bed, it bends down from the middle, so maybe during the night to support myself, I moved my leg in the wrong direction and probably caused some sort of injury.

2. For a couple days before my pain, I was wearing my tightie whities (briefs) when going to bed for a nap due to my heavy university courseload.

I also haven't noticed any rash or any irregularities with my testicles. The pain doesn't seem to be increasing either.

What could this possibly be? How long should I wait before considering myself in the red zone?

  • Don't be embarrased. You're just 16 so I'm sure its nothing serious. But go show it to a doctor anyway. Don't worry. It's probably because you masturbated too much.

  • You could have a mild case of Epididymitis. My Husband had it, he only had the pain, no swelling and only a very slight temperature, which we hadnt even noticed. Its treated by antibiotics and cleared up quickly. Dont be embarased when it comes to your health, If you have had pain for more than 4 days go and see your Doctor.Good Luck

  • You may also be suffering from testicular tortion, a condition of young men which can result in the loss of your testicle if not medically treated. See a doctor immediately, especially if the pain worsens.

  • If you do some lifting, it might be an inguinal hernia. I do a little bit of strenght training at home and had something like it, but it comes and goes. I fear it might be a hernia, or just I didn't do an exercise right and was putting strain on them. Always go to a doctor if you can. It is better to be embarrased, than have a disease for the rest of your life just because you were embarrased and didn't have it treated early when you could.
