I am looking for some possible answers to my weird leg problem. I have been having knee pain and leg stiffness for over a year now. Last year I woke up one morning to find my entire right leg swollen and difficult to move. I went to see my physician snd she sent me for a series of tests, ultrasound and a pelvic CT. She was thinking a possible blood clot, but nothing showed up. The swelling lasted about 3 weeks and I was unable to fully bend or apply pressure to my leg for quite sometime. I went to chirporactic therepy and never completely regained normal funtion of my right knee.
I finally went to see an orthopedic, thinking I must have torn some cartilage or a ligament. I had an MRI which he said showed some cartilage damage and thinning, but no tears. Last week when I tried to get up from the floor, I felt what almost sounded like a tearing noise in my knee and I instantly had pain and swelling. The swelling started on the inner side of my knee then spread to the back of my knee and now my calf feels like it is full of fluid and at times my feet are going numb. I explained this to my orthopedic and he doesn't think it could be related to the degenerating cartilage and his only solution was to go to an emergency room. I don't want to go to the emergency room, I just want to regain use of my leg. It isnt pain, it is more like constant pressure on my back thigh and bottom calf. I am frustrated with the doctors at this point and just want an answer. I am only 28 years old and I didn't have any previous major joint or limb injuries. Any suggestions? I don't have a lot of health problems, thyroid and PCOS is about it.
