I have two swellings between my ribs on my back. They are mildly tender. One has been there a long time. One has just occurred. These are not near the ends of the bones. Any ideas?

  • These sound like lipoma - fatty lumps. They are harmless but can be removed if they are causing discomfort due to their physical presence (if you catch clothes on them, etc.). You should still get them checked out though.
