I'm a 26 year old male, living on the Central Coast of California. I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis about 6 years ago. Since then, the disease has progressed and has rendered me unable to enjoy the activities I used to. While limited in range of motion in most joints, I still try to stretch and do physical activity everyday, however I'm finding it harder and harder to work through the pain. I used to body-build as a teenager and since my diagnosis, I've gained a lot of weight and I'm now at my heaviest. The reason I've come here, is to ask for suggestions. I really want to start working out again, at the least floor exercises like push-ups and sit-ups and maybe some bar cruels. Can anybody suggest things I can do, or meds I can take to help me get back to doing the hobbies I love?

  • swimming! I have RA and I try to just walk when I can or do some yoga. Really, the meds can make you swell too...so just do what you can when you can. It's not going to get better when you're 30....50....etc. But really--swimming is the best! No stress on the joints!
