I'm a 53 year old male in relatively good health except for this undiagnosed condition.
For the past three and one half years I have been experiencing relentless hunger pangs and never have the feeling of being sated after a meal. With a stethoscope to my abdomen your can hear churning and gurgling before during and after a meal at any time of the day. I can sit at a meal and eat a regular portion but never feel that I have eaten. If I continue to eat eventually I will feel nauseous since my stomach is physically full to capacity. The brain does not turn the switch to stop the hunger. I have been tested for and proved negative for Celiac Disease, Diabetes, IBS, parasites, and GERD.
I have consulted with two different primary care physicians, four gastroenterologists, an endocrinologist, participated clinical drug trials, had two endoscopies (one a capsule endo), two colonoscopies, an MRI and numerous blood tests. I have also tried Homeopathic remedies, crainiosacral massage, acupuncture, Mind and Body Healing techniques, as well as yoga. Even though I do exercise I am gaining weight.
Recently I was tested for possible chemical in balances in my Hypothalamus which turned to be negative as well.
I live in a part of the country (Boston) with some the best medical teaching hospitals in the country but every physician I've met with has told me they cannot make a diagnosis and since I'm not "ill" there is no way to do so.
I would welcome any comments or suggestions from anyone since I'm getting nowhere and this condition these symptoms are 24/7.
