I posted a few days ago with disturbing metallic taste and saliva symptoms that were misdiagnosed. Anyway, i went to the doc (AGAiN) because i ended-up having severe pain in my throat and ear. We begged to get in to the ENT (Thank you virginia mason!), and this fabulous doc looked down with a scope and saw my voice box was burned - likely from reflux. It's all coming together now, and it looks like i've been suffering from acid reflux disease.
Now - i was told to take prilosec for about a month at double the dose of the package. HOWEVER, i am having an allergic reaction to it. I realize i need to see a GI doc, but in the meantime, i'm curious how many people have experienced itching when taking these meds and what they've done (aside from lifestyle and diet changes) to treat it. I have clearly damaged to a bad point, and now, the chest pain is setting in.
I"m desparate. In a million years, i never would've thought GERD would be this painful and disturbing. :(
