Red itchy bumps on legs and arms

About 3 weeks ago my boyfriend started having crazy itching fits that cause tiny bumps to appear where ever he scratches. Now I am having a different kind of problem. At first we thought they were related but... About 5 days ago I started getting little bumps on my legs (small ones on my lower legs and larger ones on my thighs) and on the backs of my upper arms. The bumps on my legs are only on the top half mainly. My bumps don't go away like his do. They get worse with heat and almost disappear when I chill them with ice or cold water. I can only go to sleep with benadryl because they itch so bad. I'm scheduling a dr appointment to see what they say. But it is completely weird. I haven't changed my diet. I'm doing nothing different. Ten years ago I had a reaction to a detergent but this is not the same thing. A month a go I had foot surgery.. But I don't think that has anything to do with this. The bumps don't spread anywhere. They stay in the same spots.

Any ideas?

  • So I went to the doctor. He is calling it pityriasis alba. Although I really don't think mine is the same thing. If youve had this, please tell me the condition symptoms. Thanks
