Ok so I have been under the care of a doctor for about 2 months apparently I had some type of eye infection that cleared up I have been on 5 different eye drops and oral antibiotics. I dont know what is wrong with my doctor but she will not listen to me the main reason I went to her is my eyes were bloodshot and red and I have a small ulcer on my tear duct that I suspect is a result of and allergy to an eye drop. She also says that my eyes are not that red but I think I would know a little better because they are my eyes I look at them daily they are red. They also hurt they sting and they are dry I dont know what to do? I also dont have any discharge or anything Im beginning to think that I dont have an eye infection at all!

  • I have really dry eyes and my opthalmologist recommended using a few drops of baby shampoo to cleanse the lashes (gently) every day when cleaning your face. I put a little shampoo on a cotton pad and gently go sideways across the lashes with it. He says that "gunk" will build up and the shampoo will dissolve it. The gunk will aggravate the cornea and make your eyes red and sting. I didn't have an infection, just aggravation. It got really bad when I was peeling onions so I went to the eye doc. It worked for me. You can buy a really small travel size of baby shampoo which will last forever that costs $1. If you are a women, can you lay off the eye-makeup or at least use hypo-allergenic? They put terrible things in mascara and eye shadow. Do your tears burn also? I only use lubricating eye drops (plain) with no redness removal medication added.

  • You need to go to another doctor for a second opinion.

  • i have red blood shot eyes and they sting and for the last 3 days i have woke up with gunk around my eyes. what should i do ?this sounds like conjunctivitus, i've had it many times and it sucks **s, all you need to do is make an appointment with your gp and get some drops or cream, i recommend the cream if your given the choice, it sounds really horrible but it works a hellll of a lot better than the drops, and doesn't hurt or anything like it sounds xD and make sure you wear no eye makeup, this makes the infection worse, trust me. also, i'd make an appointment asap, i've heard it can cause blindness untreated xD
