Can anyone help me. My 11 year old daughter has been sick for 6 weeks and hospital unable to diagnose her or help. Started with headache, sore throat and temp which became acute severe lower right abdo pain (appendix area). Hospitalised. All tests normal except ultrasound showed enlarged lymph nodes in the area of the pain. Diagnosed mesenteric lymphadenitis. Treatment was hospitalisation with monitoring and just pain relief. We have been out of hospital now for three weeks and in that time we have had a few days where all her symptoms have gone, but the rest of the time she has been sick. Now for the last week she has had constant severe lower right abdo pain. Annrexia, weakness, knee joint pain, constipation (poos are like hard bullets). Bloods all normal except ANA 1:320 and IgE slightly elevated. they do not want to do a laparoscopy as they are convinced its a psych problem (bull). These episodes start with chills which last for the first several hours. Has anyone else been through this... dont know where to turn for help. Thanks from a very worried mum

  • Get another opinion, with a Pediatric Gastroenterologist. Could be chronic appendicitis, Lupus Gastroenteritis, Food Allergy, etc.Good luck,-R
