Hi,

I'm new to this website so my apologies if I am out of Line anywhere!

Well where do I start? Basically 6 years I started contracting pnuemonia. Since then I have contracted 7 pnuemonias in the 6 years.

At first it was very mild only requiring 3 maybe 4 days in hospital on IV antibiotics. However which eac episode of pnuemonia it has got worse. With the last 4 requiring Intensive Care Unit admission and th last episode saw me enter respitory arrest. This lead to me being on a ventilator for 3 weeks and I had to have a tracheostomy.

I have been seen by a chest who has check for things like Congenital Malformation of my lungs, organising pnuemonia causing bacteria and as well as other diseases and conditions. These were futile and no diagnosis was reached and I have now been discharged to from the chest clinic due to no diagnosis being reached plus two blood tests that showed I had a very low CD4 count of just 195 which is indicative of AIDS rather than HIV. However all 5 tests for HIV have be negative both for the antibodies and the genetic material test.

The other test was my Immunoglobulins test which showed I had lowered antibody levels so I was passed over to immunology who ran a whole serious of tests for immunological disorders. These included CVID, Complement Deficiency and other such diseases. All these came back as negative. I was about to be put on immunoglobulin replacement therapy however a last minute blood test showed that my levels where in the normal range but at the lower end of normal but this was sufficient to not require the replacement therapy.

I was signed of from Immunology about 4 months due to going 18 months without any sort of infection. I continued with the continous antibiotic treatment which 250mg of Amoxicillian 3 x a day and I have an emergency supply of Eurythromycin for any break through infections.

The problem with this therapy is that I become ill very very very quickly. The last pnuemonia I had requiring the ventilation not even 12 hours before I was enjoying a night out in Manchester with nothing more than a runny nose. Then I went to bed woke up and was very short of breath and admitted to hospital.

They have grown some bugs in a lab from my pnuemonia episodes and these bugs were Atypical Pnuemonia, Community Aquired Pnuemonia and Mycoplasm.

None of my doctors can explain why I am contracting pnuemonia on such a regular basis. Therefore I am wondering if there is anyone on here who has been experiencing a similar problem or know of someone who has? I would like to know their story and to know what they have done about it and if any diagnosis or theories have been reached?

I'm kind of desperate now, I feel like I can't leave my front door and have to avoid any source of infection at any cost. Just like I have said each time it gets that little bit worse and I feel now it is at the stage where it can't without causing death.

Thanks for listening and thank you for any help or advice you can pass on!

Jason

I've had pneumonia four times - the first time was extremely bad. Thankfully the last three were far less severe. One thing that has helped me is Eucalyptus Oil. I don't know for certain that it has reduced the severity or the frequency of pneumonia for me, but at the very least, I am certain that it just inhaling it clears my sinuses and provides relief in that way. I have a report in front of me that I wish I could send you, but here are the highlights. You've probably heard of eucalyptus in items like cough drops and Vick's VapoRub. Well it's because it clears air passages. But also, studies have shown that inhaling eucalyptus vapors causes an increase in the uptake of oxygen from the lungs to the bloodstream. Additionally, eucalyptus is one of the four active ingredients in Listerine mouthwash, along with aspirin; menthol from peppermint and other mint plants; and thymol, one of the essential oils in the herb thyme. Researchers from Tokyo Dental School demonstrated that even a 50% solution of Listerine kills 60% of the HIV virus it touches within 30 seconds, and (here's the best part) 100% of the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus present. Staphylococcus is the bacteria strain often associated with very serious, even life-threatening illnesses such as flu and pneumonia, blood infections, heart damage and other illnesses.I bought a small bottle of Eucalyptus Oil in the health food/organic section of my grocery store for about $4.00. I take hits off of it several times a day. I shake the bottle, remove the lid and take several nose-hits. Then I put the cap back on, shake the bottle, remove the cap and inhale the fumes through my mouth into my lungs. Shaking the bottle seems to release the fumes more freely. It feels wonderful. You can also put 8-10 drops on a handkerchief or cloth of some sort, and inhale the fumes from that throughout the day.I also have mouthwash around all the time that has eucalyptus in it, and rinse my mouth and gargle with it at least once a day. I try to keep it in my mouth for 30 seconds, but sometimes it's too intense.Give it a try. I strongly believe it has helped me ward off pneumonia. You have nothing to lose. Good luck, and good health.

Currently, the third I am at home trying to keep comfortable and taking prescriptions of cipro an zythromax. Upon coming down with this last bout, I started with some chills and fever, so I knew I hadbetter get checked out. But the 2 times before after recovering from the pnuemonia, I 'd never been able to get rid of the flem that was always present. Before the pnuemonias, going back 15 years i hadhad several bad bronchial infections, one of which I remember was accompanied with the the nasty, sharp pleurosy-pain upon breathing, or when turning or bending. As I ve never smoked, drank much, was always otherwise healthy and active Im beginning to wonder whats going on. I have recently came across a book, which Ive read entitled "The Respiratory Solution" by Dr. Cass Ingram who gives alot of info on respiratory diseases, their causes and treatment. He reccommends "Oil of oregano' or "oregonal" a naturally concentrated oil that kills virtually any parasite that afflicts us. I have tryed this and think it helped, but dont know if i took exalty the right combo and dose at the time. Anyway, this book was written in 2003. I know that the healthfood stores carry the products that I mention. Well, dont lose hope- nothing is impossible with God! Keep faith in the Lord! God's word says that"many are the afflictions of a righteous man, but the Lord delivers him out of them all." Nothing at all can get us- (beleivers in the Lord) until his purpose for on this earth is through. and sickness isnt of God, its of the enemy! You are not alone, and God who is in us is stronger than he who is in the world. (the devil) So - I will not fear any disease because Im in His hands. Grace and Peace and health to you!
