About 8 years ago, I began to have bouts of recurring fever, the first about a week after returning from Australia. On this trip I had stopped both ways at Singapore and Bahrein. These bouts now occur at fortnightly intervals, and are characterised by sudden chill, followed by high temperature (104 degrees F), excessive sweats, body rash and nausea, lasting about 2 days. For the next 2 days or so, I am very fatigued. My GP and the local hospital pronounce themselves mystified. I am seriously handicapped in that I cannot make any substantial plans in my life, and further feel increasinly vulnerable as there is very little warning of the onset. The hospital discounts malaria , and offers no other diagnosis and therefore of course no treatment. I should be very grateful for any thoughts. I am 67 years of age

  • Dear Lloyd....I have done no travelling and have your symptoms...except the rash.I have chronic fatigue syndrome...has this been considered or ruled out?Are you military?...Did you serve in the Gulf war?...If so, has Gulf War Syndrome been considered? Truth is, no matter what your "diagnosis" is, find NAET or Bioset therapy near you. These practicioners are world wide because it works. I am a nurse who was sick a long time...no docs coul;d figure me out either...for years... until I found a doc who was verse in CFS...but all he did was give me a diagnosis on a sheet of paper and 2 scripts to "mask" my symptoms.. The Bioset doc is who gave me back my life...no kidding You won't believe it...give it a shot...at this point...what have you got to lose? Best of luck....Be well...mommy cat:)
