Please if anyone can help.. I don't even know where to start. This has been going on for so long..and keeps getting worse. I am 39 and a female. I have been to 6 doctors now. I have severe pain in my shoulder baldes, you can actually feel knots there, well now it has traveled down my left arm and my arm will go numb. it goes from left to right side. About a month ago the throbing was so bad I wanted to just cut my arm off. The pain has since eased, but it always there not as bad though, until the next bout. Now I have pain in my calfs and when I wake up in the morning my lower back feels like someone took a hammer to me while I was sleeping. I recently had a MRI done along with xrays and nothing was found. I'm scheduled to have a milogram and a EMG done next week. I keep thinking that this could possibly be a condition rather than and injury. I feel like I'm losing my mind, and get so sick of even getting out of bed..I'm tired all the time and just don't know what to do...Bless anyone that might offer a bit of advice:)

  • I went through a period of having lower back pain so terrible that I couldn't walk, sit or lie down. I went through every test possible with no luck of a diagnoses. They told me my problem was muscular. Exercise helped me tremendously and it eventually subsided and only reoccured when I was inactive. I have the same symptoms with my shoulder blades, neck and arms. For me it's tension and knots pinching nerves. Have you tried massages and/or relaxation techniques to reduce stress? Stress, anxiety and/or depression can cause true pain. Only a suggestion.

  • Never give up, have you had Gall Bladder tests? acute pain in right shoulder initially then radiates, can be GB problem. What kind of work do you do? think about what you are doing, are you holding yourself tense even subconsciously?, if work or home is stressful, how do you behave to the stress? grit the teeth, tense up, like you just want to clobber someone? posture all things to be considered.Nothing like regular massages, pain etc won't go in one treatment, used to do Acupuncture followed up by massage with great results, worth a try. Relaxation therapy, see a Naturopath as well as your docs

  • I agree. It does sound muscular. Along with the relaxation techniques, vitamins may also help. Deficiancies can lead to cramps and charlie horses. Try it you have nothing to lose:)WendyPlease if anyone can help.. I don't even know where to start. This has been going on for so long..and keeps getting worse. I am 39 and a female. • If you can feel knots and throbbing , calf pain , I agree w/ others. It soundslike a muscular problem. Try getting some vitamin supplements in you... specifically Magnesium and Calcium. I took these after waking up four nights in a row with cramps and spasms in my calf muscles. It works , Honest

  • How much water do you drink a day? Please try to drink at least 64 oz plain water each day. Dehydration can cause pain. Also to find an acupuncturist near you, please go to www.acufinder.com and type in your zip code. Acupuncture can really help!Doctor of Oriental Medicine
