Have developed a red rash mostly on palms of the hands with only isolated spots on backs of hands. Rash now broke through 2 sliding scales of steroids and Zrytec. Lesions do NOT itch. They burn. When they come they are red and over 4-6 hrs slightly spread and fade away. There are no other parts of my body involved. Urine checked no protein. No joint pains or fever. Wood lamp no illumination. Have pets but had for 40+ years. No food allergies known. Allergic to Biaxin. Had Cipro eye drops about one month before rash started but have used ofloxacin and oral cipro in past without issue. No travel and no weird bug bites. Otherwise healthy male. Work in healthcare and when rash started switch to latex free gloves. Lesions NO Vesicles. They just go away in 4-6 hours.

Been dealing with this for into 4th week.

I would upload picture but can't figure how?

  • Hi-I have been getting burning rashes that come and go on the Palma of my hands and so the soles of my feet for 2 years now. It has been a nightmare to deal with and an even bigger nightmare trying to figure it out. A year ago I was diagnoses with Lyme disease which has now turned into late stage neurological Lyme disease because it took so long to get diagnosed. I live in Southern California with no recall of a to k bite though I have done my fair shake of hiking. This is a very serious disease that has stolen my life and may kill me. I am currently on a intravenous antibiotics through a surgically implanted picc line that runs to my heart. This whole nightmare started with the rashes on the palms. Perhaps you should consider being tested for lyme. It's hard to get a positive diagnosis serologically but the right doctor will know what needs to be done. Good luck and I hope it's not something as serious as what I'm dealing with.

  • I would advice you to get it checked from a good physician. It is important to get a proper check up done. This might be a viral infection which you might be suffering from.

  • sounds like a rash of allergy, if so get vetericyn gel and keep putting on after wash of hands till gone, and hydrocortisone cream anti itch. this may take a week or couple of days. should disappear unless you get back into whatever ALLERGIC ITEM OR AREA

  • I have had this most of my life on and off....it's been so severe in palms that it resembled the fabled "stigmata" of crucifixion holes in the palms of hands. I always carry some evidence of it, and yes, it burns. Have also had on feet. This may well be palmoplantar keratoderma, possibly linked to chromosome 17. Get checked out.

  • Syphilis causes a rash on the palms and bottoms of feet. Get tested because it can be treated but if left untreated for years can cause psychological problems.
