PLEASE if you know urology help me.....I have Cystinuria, I also have high blood pressure, anxiety and a dermoid cyst. I am almost 34. I have just this past month had problems with my underarms itching severely. I am going to have a hysterectomy next week due to the cyst and pre-cancerous cells. I am wondering if all of this relates or could be some other underlying disease. I also have a disk degenerating in my spine (lowest one). AND I keep getting Streptococcus B infections in my urine cultures. ???? Help

  • I don't know how exactly this could be systemic, but it is possible. You are prone to cysts in all body symptoms. That sucks :(. But the cysts, and the strep B, suggest that you may be abnormally prone to infections. Ask for a thorough blood count and an HIV test. If you turn out to be immunocompromised, or even if you don't, the armpit itching may be folliculitis, or inflammation of the hair follicles. Shaving and antiperspirant use increases this risk. Folliculitis is usually caused by the staphylococcus aureus bacterium, which is treatable in most cases.

Maybe you should have that blood test too to rule that out, it's a specific test for it, and it takes about 10 days for the blood tests to come back... I suffer from the itching, staf cysts on skin in various areas over the years, and and have had a hysterectomy in my 30's due to fibroids, and my lower disc in my back has desolved (plus other spinal problems), also chronic anxiety. I didn't know I had haemacromotosis until about 10 years after having a hysterectomy, as it was only then I started seeing bruising, and when I was in my late 40s, after suffering for many years, I finally came across a wonderful lady doctor who suggested I have the test, (while menstruating, excess iron is released, so in women it is kept to some degree under control). I hope this helps a little.
