:( My daughter aged 18 years complained of her heart beat reaching 130 beat/min even when not exercising.
The rapid heartbeat can happen at any time of the day during any kinds of activities and may last 5 to 10 minutes.
During such times, she experiences shortness of breath.
There may be times she said that she experiences little prickling like pin *****s on the feet.
ECG shows that it is not a heart problem.
Blood test taken does not indicate that it is a thyroid problem.
What can it possibly be ?
Plse help to suggest.

Thank you

  • She is very young, but I think pheochromocytoma should be ruled out. Good Luck!

  • The Dr is sure to suggest anxiety soon, don't believe it ! You should research POTS syndrome, or dysautonomia... cortisol levels should be checked...maybe see an endocronologist for more thyroid testing.Good LuckPam

  • is she on any meds? Alot of meds, when first starting, could have side effects of rapid heart beat and palpitations.
