My son is 7 years old. In the spring he had the flu and then it turned into pneumonia. After that, he suffered from constant mouth sores and random rash-like spots on his back, legs, hands and feet that looked similar to ring worm and hives, minus the raised appearance. 7 months later, he got the flu again, and 3 days after that, again pneumonia. This time he had fevers of 103-106, in the ER and on many, many meds. The strange rash-like spots returned, and more mouth sores. He missed 16 days of school and it took 8 weeks before he felt strong enough to be himself again. He was seen by every doctor imaginable. Since then, he has suffered from random fevers and aches in his back, arms and legs constantly. Most mornings the aches are so bad he cries and needs help into a warm bath.
He has been to every kind of Doctor imaginable, from the general practitioner, to the Dermatologist, allergist, pulmonologist, and an infectious disease specialist. All say there is nothing out of the ordinary, yet he is still ill!!!!! Please help with any information or ideas you might have. I am discouraged and feel miserably helpless. I cant stand to see him in so much pain and feeling sick everyday!
Thank you!

  • Did they check for Lyme's? I know at least 10 adults and children with Lyme's Disease and we live an area of the country where it is not supposed to be possible to get it. Most of them had all kinds of random diagnoses, such as chronic fatigue syndrome before they finally received their Lyme diagnoses. They had to go to doctors who specialized in Lyme's and pay for the tests out of pocket in order to get the diagnosis. It is not well known by doctors or insurance companies. I sure hope your son is much better by now!My son is 7 years old. In the spring he had the flu and then it turned into pneumonia. • Whenever he has the smallest sign of flu, put some eucalyptus oil where he can inhale it, for example on each end of his pillow. Keep him off sugar.
