I have had skin issues since high school along with odd problems that I have been tested for time and again and they(doctors) all said you're healthy as a horse?
I get spells where when trying to go to sleep my mind constantly wanders a mile a minute and I swear I'll have up to 3 topics going on at the same time. Then I cannot wake up(in the military one of my fellow soldiers hit me "not nicely" 3 times to wake me), I have rolled myself out of bed and onto the floor fighting to get myself up. The area around my eyes is very warm and eyes are sore(muscles around and eyeball), my voice is groggy, and cuts in and out. I cannot think, to save my life. My kidneys (middle of back on each side of spine will be warm and hurt, and at times I can feel my heartbeat pulsing there, and at that time my legs will be extremely fatigued, to nearly useless. The skin on my thighs has very little hair on it( all broken off) as at times weird things happen with the pores(comes and goes). Some of them will get half inch in diameter red patches around them and they will have a pimple in the middle. Others seem to just get an odd 1/8th" scab like hard spot that if removed like a scab will reveal an tiny odd fiberous(cotton-like) mess on the follicle. This has been going on since about 1992. I am really feeling hopeless as ALL these tests they are running of course are not covered by insurance, and the best they can tell me is to use hemroid creme on my legs!?! I have a picture of a small worm that came from my left ear. It is 1/32nd" x 1/4" long and both ends of it's white body taper off longly something like a filet knife. I have had canal reconstruction on that ear when I was a child due to misdiagnosis by Mil-Docs and constant ear infections. Well today there is a pocket within my ear that protrudes upwards(believe from Mother trying to rip my ear off dragging me around the house cause I was a bad boy) But anyhow there is a pocket between my skull an the skin on my head, and well I have had reoccurring periods where my ear will start having discharge seeping from it, quite noticeably and they will be itchy. But here's the catch, the ear stinks! It smells like a dogs ear, and I sneezed not to long ago, and it smelled like the same smell! I am now starting to experience pain in my head, period, front to back, left to right, and even the eyeballs from sharp pin ****k feeling in the iris area to something like a charlie horse feeling on the back of the eye! A time or two before I had an extreme problem where it seemed my sinuses locked up. I lost balance, my head was drifting around, I felt as though I was drunk. It seemed like the sinuses stopped up the ears. A "Doc" put a tube in my nose that had a ball on the end he was holding he had me say something odd and then he blew my eardrums across the room. after everything stopped sounding tinny I was better for about 30 minutes!?! Please if anyone has even a clue to help me please let me know. Also I would like to know how to pursue finding out about the worm that came from my ear. I am afraid if I turn it over to a "Doc" he will either dismiss it, or lose it. I want to know, I have been suffering for years and all they can tell me is that there's nothing wrong with me. I am 6' 1" 230lbs. big boned(Heavy for my size), athletic build, 15% bodyfat, 36" waist male with Perfect vision. I have hay fever alergies.

  • Regarding the ear worm, ask to be checked for the botsy (this may be misspelled) fly especially if you have traveled to areas with unclean water such as when you were in the military. I recommend you print off literature from the internet and bring it to your doctor along with the worm if the traveling profile fits your experience. I believe this worm is prevalent in some Central America and African environments. Hope this helps.Lynn

I wish you well...mommy cat:) Interesting to hear about a lung worm as I forgot to mention that from time to time I have a completely weird feeling in my lungs when I wake up. It's almost like there something moving on the back of them( I do sleep on my back. The best I can describe is like a corn field swaying to the wind. I only notice it while breathing in and it usually prevokes coughing. but the feeling subsides within 10-20 minutes. I associated it with me being a smoker and nothing more. I'll take a look at the links later this evening when I have more time. Many Thanks!

  • Try to ID the worm, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hookworm and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ascariasis etc. Then get a stool (faeces) test for its eggs, there will be many. Did they test for anemia? Some worms can migrate anywhere in our bodies but only live there if conditions allow, such as in your ear. They can also move under the skin and cause lesions. No, the tsetse fly doesn't cause a visible worm and the results are so serious, you would have known (sleeping sickness) but perhaps look at the related infection of Chagas, at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chagas - nor does the tsetse fly rely on dirty water, that would be bilharzia.I really don't think you have CFS/ME. Unless you have more than one parasite at the same time, that worm is probably causing all of it. The neurological situation - awake at night and can't get up - that is typical of a parasite. Make copies of the picture and try a doctor - it would be (typical but) very stupid if they dismiss it. Even the lowest of doctors should know his worms, and you even have a picture!

  • Dont go thinking you have something like CFS/ME at this point (ive never heard of CFSers finding worms like that or having stinky dog like ears!, that isnt normal and needs to be worked out). You need to be working out about that worm, also if you travelled over seas a lot.. maybe you also have other parasites the doctor hasnt throught of checking. All your issues could be worm related.

  • Make sure your test are done at a hospital (preferably a teaching hosp) and that they know the extent of your travels. Worm eggs vary considerably in size and shape. Look up vermifuges (de-wormers), ask your doctor, and see if you can start taking it before the tests come back.

  • De-wormers yes (Vermox etc) but first ask a doctor - as dead worms can make you very ill, some de-wormers don't work everywhere in the body, etc.Morgellons is discussed at http://forums.wrongdiagnosis.com/showthread.php?t=16479

  • bot fly larvae are not like this at all.they are like a tough caterpillar, but with a semi globular body the size and shape of an english walnut, covered in stiff hairs.botsy flies sound to me like a misunderstood conflation of the bot fly and the tse tse fly.they exist only in imagination.in any case i find it hard to accept that anyone could be so deeply asleep or so drunk,as to tolerate an insect laying an egg in their ear as an experiment try touching an ear hair of someone who is sleeping.see what happens!also, the ear is lined with wax which insects find difficult to tolerate.that is what it is there for.cant tell you what it was,but i think i can be fairly sure what it wasnt.

  • Go to an Endocrinologist, they are investigative doctors, like the House Character on the American TV show. Give him all your symptoms and tell him all the places that you have travelled. They will be the best ones to figure out whats wrong. Did you take a pic of the worm from your ear? Take that with you to the doctor. Good luck.

Good luck.I agree you should go to a good (get a recommendation of one in your area) but an Endocrinologist is not just an investigative doctor - I would assume that all GOOD doctors are investigative - they should be working out what is wrong with their patients and then fixing it.An endocrinologist is someone who specialises in endocrinology which is basically hormones and all realted aspects of health.
