i am a carpenter, used to work on my knees alot a, but haven't done in the past few years. I have puple coloured knees which sometimes is sore to touch, but not often. I would like to know if this has anything to do with my work, or could it be a form of arthritis, as also my pinky finger the joint it quiet stiff, and physically open my pinky finger in the mornings when i wake as it will not open by itself?? i am 27yrs of age. thanks.

  • It sounds like you've got a case of prepatellar bursitis(once called milkmaid's knees). Is the skin on the front of your knees thick and rough and bluish in color? If so,that's what you have, and the only treatment for it is to stay off your knees and maybe take NSAID's.As for your little finger, that just sounds like a snapping joint.
