My father has been suffering from psoriasis for over 60 years. For the last couple of years he has been suffering from psoriasis on his testicles which has serverely effected his quality of life.

As this area of the body is very sensitive most of the typical psoriasis treatments are just too servere and burn, and make the problem worse.

Is there anything that can be suggested that will provide my father with relief from the pain that this problem creates. It would be great for him to be able to have a good nights sleep and be able to where underwear etc without causing pain.

I hope someone could help with this. We are willing to try almost anything. Oh, we are from Australia.

  • Try A diaper rash ointment. It sounds strange but provides me a lot of relief. Won't cure anything but i find it gives my psoriasis time tio calm down and provides relief for me at the same time. BTW the cheap brands work just as well as the more expensive brands. Good luck to your Dad

  • I recommend using Champori Cream for your dad's p. The cream is safe (herbal with no allergens and no steroids) and works well.

  • Check Dad's undies. My husband switched from the "white-y-tight-y" to the knit boxer with the longer legs. Feels much better and more comfortable for his junk. Eliminated the sweating which when combined with a diaper cream, eliminated the itchies.Be sure and buy them a size larger than the old undies.:)

  • LOL! I thought I was the only person in the world with Psoriasis on my scrotum. I always get after my kids for having their hands down their pants. "But how come you always do?", they ask. They don't understand that when I have an itch, I HAVE TO SCRATCH! LOL~!I would just echo the other comments, keep it moisturized and wear loose fitting undies. I haven't tried diaper rash ointment, so can't vouch for that. But definitely don't use off the shelf lotion -- it BURRRRRNS! Try vasaline, a psoriasis ointment, or a natural beeswax/olive oil ointment, or something that contains lanolin. THese have all worked for me in the past, but I often forget to use them. Been dealing with it for over 20 years, so I guess I'm just used to it.Good luck!

  • Try Vick's VapoRub. Burns at first but may help in the long run.

  • I have had this for 30 years. I have tried everything (cream, lothion, herbal, chinesse, dead sea, bees wax etc). The only way I can control it is by using a Steriod cream Betamethasone. (one tube lasts me 6 months use sparingly) I will use it twice a day for about 4 days, then I dont need it for several weeks. I clean my scotum properly with a simple non scented soap. My wife washes all our clothes in a simple washing powder non perfumed. Loose fitting pants. If I feel very itchy a cool shower helps. I have cut alchol down to just a couple of beers twice a week. No hard alcohol. Never smoked. I hope this helps. Tony

  • There is relief out there!!! Three weeks ago I started out with a fierce itching on my scrotum. I washed it over and over then I noticed a greyish film on my scrotum and base of my ***k. I thought it was a fungus and put fungicide spray on it. It burned like ***l needless to say. Then it started to hurt really bad and look shiny like silvery. Also and mainly, I had what looked like red scrapes. It was all exposed and pink and red very painful. Long story short, did the self diagnoses tried a few things for eczema and it didn't work. Monday I bought desitin rapid relief and BAM! It felt better immediately and the thickness of the cream protected my scrotum from the friction of my ***k and underwear that also helped with the healing. Now its Wednesday and I'm completely pain free. I can actually pull my skin and it doesn't hurt at all.I hope this helps guys. Painfree in Philly
