Please someone help! I keep getting this pressure in my head and eyes if I lay on my stomach, I dont get it all the time but it is more frequent. It feels like my eyes are going to explode! I also get shooting pains up the back of neck, across the top of my head and across my forehead. I have been to the doctor and he did a blood test which came back fine! I go swimming 4 times a week and somedays can not do breast stroke and he hurts too much. I suffer from pcos but i dont think it is linked.

Please someone help.

  • For some people, this causes a vasovagal response. The Vasovagal nerve is in the neck. When laying on your stomach, bending your neck back so you look forward, pinches this nerve which causes changes in your blood pressure. Not everyone is sensitive, but you may be. Anyway, usually high blood pressure then suddenly low or vice versa. Low blood pressure causes the sense of head exploding or similiar to what you described (pressure). Do you get a little light-headed or feel that pressure when you suddenly stand from a sitting position? This is also part of this syndrome called Hypostatic hypotension or vasovagal response. FYI: PCOS women are more prone to this condition.Just remember to get up slower, drink more fluids, stay away from caffeine, and try not to bend neck back while laying on your stomach.Good luck
