I am 29 years old, and I just found out that I am pregnant and that I have a parasite "dientamoeba". I read about different treatments for it, but the information says that they are not safe to take during pregnancy. Is it more dangerous to take the antibiotics, or to be pregnant with a parasite? What should I do?

  • If you aren't having dangerous diarrhea, and can keep up your nutrition, you may be safe to wait until delivery to treat the amoeba (enantomeba). Be sure and tell your OB Doc...don't want baby getting amoeba during delivery.Meanwhile, use very careful hygeine, washing hands after toilet, before eating. And wash everything you eat, only drink clean water...don't want more contamination, either.
