my husband is on 14 mgs of predisone daily dues to him having COPD..about 6 weeks ago when he was getting out of his truck..he bumped the lower calf of his leg which resulted in bleeding..and also the front of his leg...the bleeding finaly stopped but the cuts started geting bad and painful...I kept the cuts cleaned everyday but they still wouldnt heal.we went to his doctor who prescribed antibotics fro him to take in case of infection...there is now two huge sores that have formed scabs where he hit himself and it just stays hard..the doc told us that it will take a long time for these scabs to finaly dry up and his skin go back to normal?? anyone ever hear this before??? there is nothing anyone can put on them to make them heal quicker? thank you

  • Yes, corticosteroids can slow healing of sores. Look up "Prednisone and sores" on the net. Make sure you read all the warnings and dose instructions. Do not put any thing like cort-aid on the sores. There are wound clinics at most major hospitals. See if you can get in.
