I'm a stranger in a strange land...American living in UK. NHS healthcare essentially nonexistent unless you have a traumatic injury (it takes several months even to see an allergist). Have been seeing U.S. military doctor, and getting nowhere.
Three weeks now, my 19 year old son having pins and needles painful sensation torso followed sometimes by hive / rash. Multiple times per day. He was diagnosed with sudden onset severe urticaria. Antihistimes no help at all. Blood work looks good; stool sample came back positive for campylobacter jejuni. With reading, this looks closely tied with GB Syndrome...That combined with his pins and needles sensation has me very scared.
He's now on Cipro, but no improvement. Is GB a real threat? Do I just need to hightail him back to the U.S.?
