I had my daughter 4 months ago, in an emergency C-section. Since then, I have had chronic all over body pain. My joints hurt, my muscles hurt, it seems even my bones hurt! When I get up from sitting, I can't even stand up straight right away...I walk hunched over until the pain lessens so I can straighten. Just sitting here my back hurts, my hips hurt, my legs hurt. My doctor ran a series of blood tests which came back normal, and he thinks it may be from the epidural. Any other suggestions? I'm not taking any pain relief meds.

  • Did you have any complications from the c section? If not, it still can take a very long time to recover - they completely cut your abdominal muscles and this weakens your back. I had an emergency C section and I will say it took nearly a year to feel myself again (had complications though). If you had a reaction to the epidural, that could take some time to move out of your system. Do you have any constipation/diarrhea? How is your energy (low, I am sure with such a little one!). Do you get headaches? Are you nursing? Are you taking any supplements and drinking lots of water? Please try acupuncture. It is excellent for pain and getting the body back in balance! • Check our ARACHNOIDITIS. It can be caused by epidurals

  • well..some good news...I've been seeing a chiropracter, and the pain has stopped. Apparently my whole pelvis was out of wack, causing pain everywhere else. I've also lost wieght, which I think contributed to it as well. Thank you very much to everyone who replied!

  • i am 5 weeks post c section also and am experiencing body aches all over. it feels like i have the flu, but its not the flu@! no fever, but feels like body aches that come along with fever. ?? so , could it be from the c section , i guess i will try to wait it out until my 6 week check up which is aug 3rd , so we will see, but i do hope this does not continue. it just seems to be getting worse every day . I wonder if i have like fibromyalgia now which my mother has, or some form of arthritis ! help?i was fine 3 weeks post, but now these body aches wont go away??
