Hello..for over a year now, I have had abdominal discomfort on the right side of my naval. I've had CT scans, ultrasounds, endoscopies and a barium enema and the doctors cannot find out what's wrong. I initally thought I had a hernia, since there is a slight bump in that area, but the tests have all been negative. I feel as if they are missing something. does anyone have a similar problem? I am able to exercise and move, but there are times when the discomfort is so severe, I have to curl up in a ball to make it feel better. They've ruled out gall bladder, appendicities and IBS. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

  • That really sounds horrible. I actually do have a hernia. I was like you too, where it wouldn't hurt when I first started working out, but later hurt so much that I, in fact, crawled into a ball. I didn't have any test done, other than the coughing test. Basically, my doctor told me to cough and she would press on and around the hernia. I've been doing lots of sit-ups to strengthen my abdominal wall, as well as work at a different place. (I carried too much weight, which caused my hernia). So try the sit-ups and buy an abdominal waist trimmer too (it squeezes your tummy so it helps the ab wall). Now there isn't pain when I run. Good luck! I hoped I helped out with a few suggestions.
