Hi, my name is Sarah, I'm 25 and live in Pittsburgh. I was diagnosed with an ovrian cyst, via ER. They performed a ultrasound, and declared it was benign. Thank God. But I have a history of blood infection from a car accident I was in, and had to have surgery in May 06... then another ER surgery about a week later. I "sort of" understand that since I've had this infection in my blood, that I'm now very sensative to infection again through open wounds. Now, an ovarian cyst isn't exactly an "open wound", but I've been suffering high fever between 100 and 102.2 degrees, about twice a day for 3-4 hours... for now over 3 weeks. This has all coincidentally happened since my diagnosis. My question is, can this cyst carry infection, even though is "benign?" Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I am getting no where with these hospitals. Oh, and by the way, I have been on Doxylcyclin (sp), which is an antibiotic, for about 6 days. ????????Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
