Can someone tell me where my appendix is? I had 2 doctros who told me 2 different things. Is it next to the belly button area? or lower right abdomen?
I have had pain there, but not to bad. I have been checked with an CT scan, but that was sometime ago.
Some people tell me that there is pain, and some people tell me its just little pain.
I'm not sure what to believe.
Please Help..
Thank you

  • Your appendix is a little thing that hangs down from the beginning of your large intestine. It is fairly low down, on your right side. Here is a picture, and a simple explanation of all the bits down there:http://www.stjohn.org/HealthInfoLib/swArticle.aspx?2,105What kind of symptoms are you having, and how old are you?Best,Shula

  • Are you sure its your appendix.. that pain is in the area of an ovary.. maybe a cysts or something? Check with your OB also.

  • My appendicitis lasted for a month and the pain was centered at the belly button. It was intermittent. I never even thought about my appendix. It really cranked up one weekend and I went to the ER. After a CT scan, they said it was about to burst. After the surgery, they amended it to "your appendix was smouldering". A simple KUB xray will rule out constipation and too much gas. Blood work will rule out an infection. A CT scan will rule out ovary and appendix problems. Hope this helps.

  • i have pain around the belly button and on it sometimes. Not to bad. Sometimes I get pain on my lower right side, but not to bad. I just had a ct scan done about 2 months ago, and they made me drink this white stuff, and also injected me with iodine. but they said my appendix was fine. I'm still having pain around my bellybutton.

  • I'm 26 and I am still feeling pain around my belly button, but not sure what to do. I guess I could ask my doctor for a ct scan.
